Dusk at Marina Bay

Last week was an unusually good week at work. We finally had a lull, a calm between two storms which are our Unit and Integration Test phases. On Friday, I left work early (read: before dark) and took a stroll with V around the Marina Bay Area. It’s easy to forget that I work at arguably the most scenic spot in Singapore until I take some time to look around. And take a few pictures with my new Nikon Coolpix P300!

It sure felt good having a camera on my own while V snapped around with the Canon DSLR. I got to take pictures of V, for a change! Ever the photographer, often he ended up not being in any of the pictures. Well, no more!

There is an event happening throughout this month called iLight and what it is is basically a showcase of light installations all around the Marina Bay area. We caught a few, but they were alright, nothing spectacular. This one here is one of the installations, featuring a squid glowing in rainbow colors!

We checked out a few more installations, then grabbed dinner at Tiong Bahru and capped the night with a movie. Needless to say, it was a fantastic Friday night.

Coming Soon: Nikon Coolpix P300!

V and I own a Canon EOS 500D and we love it, but it is too heavy and bulky to carry around every day, so I’ve decided to get myself a new Nikon Coolpix P300! It is very slim, very light, and boasts a fast lens (f/1.8) and full manual controls, exactly what I want in a point-and-shoot camera. I ordered one on my company’s award website and can’t wait for it to arrive on the mail.
